The Year 5 and 6 Football team finished 3rd in the 2015-16 Uxbridge and District Large Schools’ League. The team played some fantastic football during the course of the season and were only beaten once during the league campaign, finishing with 5 wins, 3 draws and one defeat.
In the annual Packham Memorial 6 a-side competition, the team again performed well. Following wins against both Cowley St. Laurence and Hillingdon, and a narrow defeat by St. Bernadette, Oak Farm progressed as group winners to the quarter-final.
A hard-fought match against Hillingdon was won with a fantastic strike from James Ford, setting up a semi-final encounter with Cherry Lane. Oak Farm played well, creating some good opportunities, but unfortunately ended up losing a close game 2-1. Well done to the team for a great effort in awful weather conditions and congratulations to them for their bronze medals. Huge thanks to Mr Sweeney and Miss Mitchell and to all of our very wet supporters!
All of the boys who have played during the season have represented the school brilliantly and should be very proud of their achievements.
Our Girls’ Football teams took part in the Uxbridge and Hayes Girls’ Tournament in November. Our ‘B’ team performed valiantly against strong opposition in their group; they drew one of their matches and were narrowly beaten in their other two.
The ‘A’ team, meanwhile, won all of their three group games, with Kimi Leung scoring a hat-trick in the third of the games. In the semi-final, the team battled hard but came up against a very good Hillingdon team, who went on to win the competition. Well done to all of year 4, 5 and 6 girls who took part and congratulations to the ‘A’ team on their bronze medal-winning performance!
